Lamest Hellcat Sketch ever
Story behind a great sketch by Mike Frigon on comicartfans.com
So, I’ve been voluteering for the MCBA since 1998 (which means I’m still a ‘newbie’). And we count ourselves fortunate enough to have entertained Adam & Allison frequently (and, hopefully, again when Allison gets better). Every year, I’d let the fans fill up Adam’s sketch list and I’d always say to Adam at the end of the show, “Maybe next year I’ll get something from you…” Well, in 2006, Adam & Allison said that they were devoting that year’s FallCon sketch list to us volunteers that hadn’t gotten one. Talk about generosity!!!! So, I ask Adam for a Hellcat sketch. Sunday afternoon, Allison pulls me aside. She says that she’s sorry but Adam’s copic markers had run out. I must have had a crestfallen look on my face (which is exactly what she wanted) because then she turned this around to face me and said, “But he was able to borrow some color markers from Chad Spilker and ‘Bald Guy’ Chris-Rich McKelvey.” My eyes must have popped in awe becuase she started to laugh and said, “I hope this is ok…” I think it qualifies as more than just ‘ok’ by quantum levels. Continual thanks and gratitude to Adam & Allison for the ‘lamest Hellcat sketch ever.’
